Title: auto tranny cooler
Post by: keith on April 09, 2010, 07:42:15 AM
I'll be pulling a 450 pound trailer with my Tracker on occasion.  I have a 92 8v with a 3 speed auto.  Would a tranny cooler be recommended for this application?  What cooler is good for this vehicle?

I think it would only help. I have the meduim size cooler on mine for wheeling. A $40 cooler would be cheaper than a transmission.

tranny cooler is a good idea for an auto transmission regardless of pulling anything or not.    the less excess heat you keep in the trans, the happier it is.   should be a standard item on all transmissions.

I run a cooler from a full size chev van in addition to the one in the rad. I've got several years and 2 trucks worth of off and on road abuse on this trans and no problems
