i have a largely stock sidekick 2door and would like to put it on steroids. only problem is i have a tight budget.
your suggestions are much appreciated
front / rear bumber
body lift
AT tires
roof rack
hard top
light bar
ect.
-
How tight?
Prioritize your wants, then determine your constraints, ie. costs, installation, etc, reprioritize the list, then start modding. You'll be reprioritizing every step of the way. Don't forget to add into the plan the maintenance and repair/replace of items when necessary.

my budget consists of modestly priced equipment. hopefully i can keep my stock wheels and just get new all terrain tires around a 30" and maybe somebody knows where to find front and rear "tubular" bumpers
also what are your feelings on a 3" body lift from calamini
-
front / rear bumber - make it yourself
body lift - make it yourself
AT tires - High-Tec Retreading (http://www.high-tec-retreading.com/)
roof rack - make it yourself
hard top - dunno
light bar - make it yourself
;D

Fucking waste of money, IMO.

do you have a templete or a site i can go to when it comes to making all of these items, any ideas at all
-
Nope. All the stuff I've built, I've built from scratch without a real design or template in mind... hell, I don't even use a tape measure 95% of the time :o

If you ask Mike Hagen in a private message about what you'd like done and make it yourself that he would have the template / design for it as he's a fabricater of most of his gear. Also Heather Gavin has this you need to check out for a budget ride. http://www.whitepineclub.com/offroad/tech/budgetbodylift/index.htm Enjoy

BWA HA HA HA!! IS THAT A "BANGED UP?" STICKER ON YOUR REAR WINDOW? :D

Not trying to defend Calmini here, but I disagree that their kit is a complete waste of money.
The instructions in my opinion are worth their weight in gold. They inform you on what you need to relocate, loosen off, and extend in order for everything to work right.
Plus for those people who don’t have access to a metal fab shop, this kit makes it possible for them to lift their truck.
Anyhow as to your question Weaver.
If it were me I would rather do a small suspension lift than jus a body lift. There have been a few write-ups in the past on how to create a 2" suspension lift for pretty cheap.
This way you will get greater flex out of your suspension system, and wont be loosing traction on every hump and hurdle.
-
Oil city huh? not too far from me at all ;D

Yes :)

Instructions are nice, but Heathers guide gives you instructions as well, with better pics, and it doesn't cost $140. :-/

I don't have any experience with having a shop put some holes in some square tubing and add 3" of material to a couple of shifters, but that can't be close to as expensive as the Calmini kit.
just my $0.02. :-/

this is in regards to your response on my stock zuki need help topic ..
you said you werent far from oil city,, , where are you located
-
I would suggest forgetting about the hardtop.
That's a lot of weight!

and wont be loosing traction on every hump and hurdle
I'm not loosing traction on every hump and hurdle: ;D

Installed just 3" of body-lift and further nothing (yet). But I'd like to have more flex in the front, I'll try flipping the strut mounts soon.... ;)
That's inexpensive and should make a little difference.
