Title: JEEP bumper on a Grand Vitara
Post by: toofaroffroad on April 17, 2010, 04:43:31 PM
Hi, I've finally finished this thing. Here are some photos of the job. This is a Smitty Built swing away jeep wrangler bumper.
All it took was a little brain work and 3/4 inch L bracket that mounts right on to your stock frame hitch holes.
One issue was the door not completely opening. It hasn't been a big issue with me yet.
These brackets have been on for 2 months and have wheeled twice with high-lift jack and spare.
So far so good.
The bumper was $350.00 shipped from 4-wheel parts. Can't really beet that deal and we all know there are 0 options when looking for rear bumpers.
I should probably ad that I don't recommend doing this unless your running heavy duty rear coils and heavy duty shocks.
I have jeep cherokee rear coils and Rancho 9000x adjustable shocks.
