once i hit about 3000 rpms a high pitch wind up come from the t-case and gets louder the more rpms. any ideas?
-
Did you check the oil yet?
You don't specify what vehicle you're inquiring about - some of the t/cases are gear driven, others have chains, and you'll hear them if the oil is low - other than that, bad bearings.
-
sounds like changing your transfer case oil would be a wise idea, see if it shows any shavings of metal in it or something. if it does, you've got problems for sure.

its a 1986 samurai, and i went to the mudbog with it and it started doin it at the end of day. i draine the gear oil and it had alot of mud in it, so i cleaned it out then put new gear oil in it and it still does it

The bearings might be chewed up then, I knew there was a reason I don't like mud bogging.
You should extend the breather to a higher spot so this doesn't happen again

Locate the vent and put a rubber tube up to the hood level, might
even want to run it into the air filter box
