Post by: goldfinder on April 23, 2010, 09:23:21 AM
??? Can someone tell me what a low tone (horn like) sound could be coming from the intake, carburetor area ? It only happens sometime and runs good would like to know before it becomes a real problem, it is a stock 1.3 . ???

could be a vacuum leak, like fordguy said,   or maybe some sort of loose part that from time to time contacts the right motor part and makes noise from the vibration.   sounds weird, but I've had it happen before on mine, more on the exhaust side with that heat shield ratting, but the concept is the same.

pcv valve makes noise when it goes bad it screws in to the intake and there is a hose that goes to the valve cover. when its making the noise pinch off the hone in the noise stops thats what it is. had this happen to me be 4.
