Have a 93 Sidekick transmission.
When I pulled the shifter out of the trans, I found that the tapered spring that is on it was broken.
I don't to buy a new one, just figured I would pull the old shifter apart and try and replace the spring.
Only problem is the spring was so far destroyed, the only measurement I can get from it is the gauge.
To make a long story short, can anyone tell me the size of this spring? Length and diameter(Large end/small end).
Thanks a lot.

I cant give you the dimensions, but, I had the same issue a while back and Hawk shipped me one out, same day, and cheap.. Give them a try... 1-888-SAMURAI

Thats cool.
I talked to Sean at Lowrange and he was saying that a used shifter was 75 bucks.
But I found the same style spring through Mcmaster Carr. Figure ill just order up a few springs with similar size, pull the old shifter apart and see what I can do.
That spring just keeps tension on the retaining cup right?
Pretty sure I could use any spring, as long as its not to loose.
Thanks a lot

Yea, It keeps the locking cap in place... Be sure to get one that fits tight... I had an old one that did not hold the shifter tight in place and it's annoying....
