Title: Question about more then 2" lift.
Post by: Cylon on May 01, 2010, 07:30:38 PM
I currently have the 2 inch Calmini Shackle Reverse Suspension System installed in my 88 Suzuki Samurai, my question is if I install 1.5" Lift Old Man Emu Dakar Leaf Springs to improve the ride will I need extra parts for the steering and brakes?(such as the 3" Samurai Drop Pitman Arm or extended brake lines.) I'm just looking to improve ride quality in my Sami since its my DD, not to do major overhauls to it. Also what kind of performance gain do you get from the Venturi Tube?

i dont think you'll "need" longer brake lines but for a $30 peace of mind its up to you.  since i work from before normal working hours till after most days i dont have much time to call places but rocky-road.com has great online help that would be able to answer it for sure.

I expect that you would need both the steering mod, longer brake lines and longer shocks. Take a look at what Calmini include in their 3.5" combo lift.

Brake lines are fine. Longer shocks needed. Drop pitman arm. and you have to extend the sway bar hangers. I threw  in a new rancho stabilizer too.
