My anti sway bar detached from the passenger side where the ball goes into the receiver (if that makes sense) so i took it off and i'm wondering if i should bother replacing or just take the other side off and be done with it. Ive heard of people who take the anti sway bars off anyway so...?

street use, replace it, offroad use leave it off.
You could drive it for a while and see how it
handles and if you feel like driving it that way

i take it you mean a front anti-sway bar?
i have a 2door kick(doesn't have a rear one) and i removed the front bar to de-link the front a arms after a puck lift.
i get more body lean on corners, but am ok w/that.
i don't drive it daily- only a fish rig.
if it were a road rig, i think i'd put it back on.

I detached mine but I didn't like the extra body lean in corners, I then fitted aftermarket rims with less backspacing and it handled like stock again.

I am running 30 X 9.50 X 15 with 3 1/2" back spacing, and have had my anti sway bar disconnected for a long time. It has a slight bit more lean on hard cornering, but TO ME it is acceptable. It really comes down to how you drive, and how you like it to drive, unless the back is lifting much (then it's getting hazardous).

I've had people tell me mine looks like it's going to rool over in faster corners, and it does lean quite a bit. But off road it works very well without. I'd like to rig a quick disconnect like some of the Jeeps have.

I install a sway bar in the rear of my Tracker to get rid of body roll. It has the advantage of being a road only vehicle though. :D
I wonder if building a clip system on top of the stock mounts would work, so you could just pull a pin to disconnect the sway bar. You would need to rig up something to hold it in the air and out of the way. Didn't someone cut their sway bar in two and make a center pin so they could disconnect the center?

Yes, I've read about this, I think it was a sammy though, not sure if the Tracker's bar is hollow, but if it is then it'll work. Would need to mark and cut the bar, weld a solid rod into one side, then slide it into the other side and leave it unwelded. Line up the bar so it's straight using the mark made before cutting, and drill through the unwelded side making sure to be centered (one hole would probably do, but I'd maybe use two) Then get a nice strong pin or a bolt/nut to put through the drilled hole, and ya got the center disconnect, keep it lubed with antisieze to keep it pivoting.

i ran mine around for a while with the links off(unbolted) the a-arms. flopped the links back to the bar and secured w/some coathanger clips i made. wouldn't take much to bolt back on, but i removed the bar instead. certainly not a slalom rig.
