Post by: airdale navy on May 03, 2010, 04:20:14 PM

There should be a plastic cover and an O ring or cap gasket there - the O ring is not your standard circular cross section O ring, but a rectangular or flat one - you could try a standard round O ring but there is a possibility that the shape may cause it to slip out as the cap is tightened down.

there is a gasket between the cap and dist. body. tip of the rotor was hitting the cap? must have been grinding out the center too, huh.
gasket material could work also. bet the o-ring is working for you?

Sounds like you need to get the right distributor cap and rotor, might be
the wrong parts were in the last box
