Title: Pontiac version of the 'Kick????
Post by: kansascitytracker on July 10, 2004, 05:20:33 PM
At the store the other day I seen a Pontiac version of the Tracker or 'Kick, and was wondering what was the model name and what was the production #'s on it. I had never seen one before, it looked like my 92 Tracker but it had a Pontiac banner on windshield and Pontiac emblem on grille, and was a hardtop.

In Canada Pontiac dealers sold Trackers from 92-94 under the Asuna nameplate and they were called Sunrunners. The Asuna name was dropped and for the next few years they were sold as Ponitac Sunrunners. Typically the Sunrunner was a slightly higher trim level than the Tracker counterpart.

Hope this sheds some light for you :)

Thanks I had never seen one before. Must not have been too many leaked across the border and made it to KC I guess. I grew up in Minnesota and had never seen one up there though either. Of course, a few months ago I saw a NEW model Ford Fiesta (which haven't been made here in 20+ years) it had Mexico plates on it, so I had a gut feeling that the Pontiac was from abroad.

Yup those were sold here too.

Here's the worst thing... I've seen a Sidekick slammed to the ground with an Acura badge on the grill...what a retard who ever did that...
