I was coming home a few minutes ago and smelled Anti Freeze, made it home with no overheat. When I got home and opened the hood that foam pad on the top was soaked, cleaned it off and found that the top tank has a very hairline crack that you can just barely, it was bubbleing. I cleaned it off and it continued to bubble. Everything else is fine with it. Question is there an epoxy or anything that I can use? Don't feel like paying 250.00 at Auto Zone for a new one(although it's all copper tanks).

on plastic tank raditors, your only options really are to either have a rad shop replace the tank, or get a new radiator.
-
are the plastic tanks available though, without a month going by?
-
That I do not know, I'd call a radiator shop and ask.

You can get them cheaper than Autozone by getting them through a distributor or on line. I will try to find the name of the company I purchased mine from and post it up. A two part epoxy may hold for a little while with it being a hairline crack, but it will eventually give and need replacing. I would suggest replacing it so your not stranded somewhere instead of having it at home where you can switch it out... Plus they are easy to replace...

They ship nation wide and also have direct pick up. After much searching for mine, I found these guys and they were much cheaper than every one else and I lucked out that they were local to me (so no shipping required).

I've done this before:
http://www.urethanesupply.com/radiator.php (http://www.urethanesupply.com/radiator.php)
I used my soldering iron to V the crack, then my cheapo harbor freight plastic welder to do the fix. It held up for at least another 45K miles before I traded that car in.
And I have also used different type of epoxies to fix them, although results were mixed.
Good luck!

Just picked up the second Radiator CU1864. First one tank was to tall 16 7/8 this one tank is right 16 3/4,but still doesn't want to let the top mounting bolts line up. And everything they list seems to be for an auto, mine is a 5spd.Any ideas?

If you go to www.Radiator.com (http://www.Radiator.com) and check with them. They have an on line chat to make sure you get the correct radiator.

Unfortunately, there is only one universal radiator available for the 1.6 - it has the cooling system built in for both the engine AND the automatic transmission. Installing this type of radiator in your 5-speed will not cause problems. I noticed this when I purchased a radiator for my '93 4-door automatic.
ZukiPilot and ecoast have the best advice. Take that radiator back and contact either the folks at radiator.com or rockauto.com for the RIGHT radiator. Be sure to provide exactly what year, model (2-door, 4-door, convertable, "tintop") and how it is equipped.
Trying to fix an existing plastic-capped radiator is, in my humble opinion, a waste of time.

I have the same radiator on my 92 and had to slot the top holes and weld a washer on each side of the mount. It's fits ok after the modification. There's about 3/4" in height difference between the old and new one.
