Title: Wiring--Blower Switch Help needed
Post by: koolzip on May 11, 2010, 07:55:18 AM
I have an 88 Sami I bot recently. The heater blower switch was in the glove box. It had been removed because it had shorted and melted. No wires were connected to it.
I got a replacement switch. It has 4 male spades in the square plug at the end of the pigtail. My problem is I cannot determine where the pigtail connects. In the dash, there are some cut wires that drop down from the harness in the top of the dash on the right side of the heater control panel, but the color scheme does not match the plug (1 black and 3 blues, 2 of which are striped are on the plug). Maybe this is a later/earlier year plug with different colors????
On the lower left under dash there is a 3 spade female plug that, of course, won't fit. My Chilton manual was no help.
My questions are:  is the feed from the cut wires the correct one? If so, what is the correct wiring sequence? Any source to obtain the proper connector to splice onto the cut wires? I could solder a generic connector in if need be, but would like to keep things simple in case it happens again!
If anyone can tell me what color wires go to the switch, along with the sequence, I would really appreciate it!

I appreciate you looking. The area where the wires drop from the harness is hard to see even when you pull the face plate off the heater controls. Would be easier if the glove box were removed, but it looks like the box is molded into the dash with no way to just remove the box.

Problem solved. Found a section of interior harness locally that had the plug and have it soldered in now.
