Title: swift head onto 1.6 tracker engine?
Post by: jimbooth019 on May 23, 2010, 04:31:51 AM
Okay here we go.. I have a 'special' with kicktrack chassis and driveline looking for more upper rpm power. Will swift head give this? Is it a good swap anybody done it?

Do you mean the DOHC Swift GTI engine? The head will fit on a 1.6 Track/Kick engine. It looks like you have a supercharger fitted though so you would have to rework the Swift manifold to get that back on with a Swift head.

I cant say if modding will gain you more power, but Ican legitimately say that is one COOL toy.

Yeah I did mean the twin cam head. The intake I currently have is just a single side draft Weber with an adapter mounted on a modified tracker intake manifold.  After many hours of tinkering it produces almost as much power as the throttle body did ;) and only about 2mpg less.
Gotta get some automatic diffs to get the rpms down a bit at speed.
It is a lot of fun and it will go up my driveway.

Check out these two sites, they both have information about fitting the G13BB 16V head to a 1.6 block.
