swapped in a 3spd auto in my 92 kick that had factory 5 spd, my question is i thought it would up the power ratio a bit more than it did after reading all the info on the 5spd manual to 3spd auto swap, i am running 31s on it , is there any lower diff gears available or any other ideas out there?

Well, I think you've done what most guys with auto trans do, which is put the diffs in from a manual. You just did it a different way. What year auto trans did you swap in? You should have a significant increase in final drive ratio, which should make it easier to turn those 31's, almost back to STOCK performance, ( as in with stock tire sizes. ) The factory 5 speed final drive gears in the diffs are 5.125 to 1, and the 3 speed auto should have 4.30 to 1, unless it came out of a 4 door 8 valve , then I think it may have had 4.62's or even something else. Skyhighranger or others know more than I do about this. I don't think your going to get more performance or power out of that thing unless you start doing some engine mods.
There are lower diff gears available, 5.38 to 1, 5.63 to 1, and 5.83 to 1. All are very hard to find, but I think skyhiranger has some.

the trans is out of a 90? 8v, i guess i just thought it would have more punch in low range but when your dragging the chariot with small ponies you cant expect to much, if i could find some 5.83s for the diffs that would be great, if you know of anyone let me know. thanks

You should have 5.12 axle gears now. The other factory gear options are 5.38s and 5.62s...both of which are pretty hard to find...but as bentparts said, I do have some of each ratio for sale in the for sale section. There are also aftermarket 5.83s....but they are even rarer than the two other ratios I mentioned....mainly because they don't make the 5.83 gears for the rear of trackicks anymore.
