im trying to install a radio into my 87 samurai, the onlything that i have to mount to is the metal bracket that bends around the back of the stock radio. id like to make it as waterproof as possible but other than fabricating a tuperware thing i have no idea as to what to do, any ideas? ill snap a pic tonight but just tryin to get the ball rollin

The best thing you can do for water proof is to get a Marine Radio (more expensive than standard, or a marine radio mounting kit. It is a water resistant plastic box that holds the radio. They work realy good, but they are bulky and would require cutting of the dash to fit.

i got a marine radio, dont ask me why i didnt get a box like this with it lol would have saved me alot of headache, nothings easy :laugh:

any idea where to look? i checked crutchfield and they dont have one for the radio i bought from them >:(

Crutfield does have them, but they list them in a different section:

A lot of them require a separate tray that they plug into though, the 'marine' aspect just gives them better shock protection. Ebay is a pretty good place to go, or just walk through your local Marine store and write down model numbers.
