I REALLY hate that high idle thing on cold startup on my sammy, considering all I do is start it up,and get going after it builds oil pressure, to me, that high idle component on my rig is no more than a total waste of fuel.
is there any way to disable it without buying a weber?

Check out Ack's FAQ for details on the carb, there should be an adjuster screw for the cold start idle.
-
I dont think an adjuster screw helps much when I want to eliminate that functon completely.

I have the choke wired open with some small zip-ties on my sammy. It makes it pretty cold blooded at start up, but it dont idle high.
-
I basically disabled it using a heavy ziptie holding the high idle part so its not idling at 2500 when I start it up now. I'm MUCH happier.
-
are you speaking about the high idle pot that is supposed to hold the thottle open slightly if the lights are turned on(and other loads/conditions)?
or the actual choke mechanism?
-
the choke mechanism. it works alright now, aside from needing a second or two more time on the first start of the day, but thats no big deal.
