now it seems i have another exh leak...the car is making a kind of tappet noise only it is airy...i cant describe it anymore then that...its not the spark plugs checked those...kinda sounds like the 02 sensor wassent in all the way but it is snug as a bug in a rug...so that leaves me to belive it is the exh manifold since thats the only thing that can leak exh after the block but before the down pipe lol
also the valves are chatering a bit more then usual...sigh! gunna sea foam it then change the oil see if that helps...i guess about the exh. mani the cat is shot i think so that needs replacing so i may just do the calmini exh. high flow cat bolt on system...dunno car is kinda starting to piss me off now lol

Exhaust manifolds are pretty rugged. Maybe the gasket? How about some of the shielding? Most of my shielding has rusted off, but rattled like mad when it first came loose.
Have you (do you need to) adjust your valves? I forget how often it is called for on my '90 8v (maybe every 20k), but I know my valves quieted down quite a bit after the last adjustment.

ok how do i adjust valves? the only reason i say the exh mani is because i can hear that kind of airy tappet sound of an exh leak..the spark plugs made the same kind of noise
i am not to worried about the exh leak since it isnt the head and it isnt the plugs...the exh i wanted/needed to replace anyways its just now ill really have to do it lol

It's not that unusual for the manifold to crack. To check for exhaust leaks grab a friend and get them to hold a rag against the end of the tailpipe with the engine idling while you work your way along the exhaust listening for leaks. Do it while the engines cold and you will even be able to feel for the leak in the area you hear it even if it's not obvious to see.

i am not really super worried about it...the only thing is my gas milage has seem to suffer again not very much like 10miles per tank...i dont have the money to fix it this week anyways so when i get paid i will just go ahead and the cal mini kit =) it needs a little more umpf anyways

I gotta leak in my "downpipe" where they are welded together. I'm getting my mechanic to reweld the leak and hopefully save me from buying another downpipe with a cat.

I've recently done exhaust on two Sammi's....one right after the other. In both cases the manifold was cracked in several places. I replaced them with a Pacesetter header and 2" all the way back with a Flo-Pro in between. That seems to bring the oomph up to a respectable level.
