Is the transmission dead as well? You might be better off just replacing the engine.
A craigslist special will probably be your best bet.

well the transmission is fine suposedly.
and yea i had a inline 6 with tranny too for 150
but he says it smokes. :(

When you start looking at engine swaps try and get a 2wd transmission with a rwd vehicle. That way you can just modify the drive shaft to go into the divorced transfer case.
Make sure you check engine size and the length of the drivetrain. There isn't a whole lot that will fit in the engine bay. Some people have bee doing Nissan Diesel swaps to some success, I think a Isuzu swap would be a lot of fun.

For about 300 in parts, you can rebuild the engine you have
and not go through the headache of an engine swap

Whats a "Noob".

before automatically assuming your motor is DOA, figure out WHY you have a dead cylinder. it coud be something really simple like a bad plug/wire even.
