I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions for front seats. I need to replace my seats and probably the mounting rails. Any ideas, either new ones or what would work out of a junkyard. I appreciate your time and information!!!

What you looking to put them in?

I guess that was kind of stupid on my part. :-[ I need them for a 1988 (I think) Samuri.

I bought some steel tubing at a steel place and bolted it in, which in essence gives me the limitless option of pretty much ANY bucket seats I want if I just drill the right holes they bolt right in.
-
Are you looking for weather proof seats or something comfy?
I use plastic seats from Summit Racing, they work great for me. While I did buy the new rails and build new mounts an easier option, if you have a welder, would be to just weld brackets onto your existing rail system.

a search for seat at Ack's FAQ (see link in signature) will provide links to mod articles for the most common seats used in Samurais...

Depending on where you are I have a good set of 76 Corvette seats available. They are very similar in shape to the seats in my Vitara.
I live in Indiana
I believe you could remove your existing seat brackets and redrill them to adjust to the seat mounts. this would hold true to most any seat.
Or do as earlier suggested and bolt on some flat bar stock and drill at will.

i replaced the old stock seats in my Samurai cause covers were way to much money, OEM covers....I got a set of plastic racing seats and covers from Jegs. a little work and a few trips to Menards, they fit great.

I got some leather seats out of a acura RSX. they are like MAX width but they are sooo comfortable. Used the acura tracks just bent the mounting tabs flat and cut out all the bs under the drivers seat.

Try these guys for new! I have a set of the Sport seats in one of my Sammies and they have a kit to bolt right in! I also run the Baja rs suspension seats in my work truck and they are excellent. I sometimes do 10hr plus trips and they keep me comfortable. They are also less expensive then other seat manufacturers and have been around many years!
