Title: Warn Or Superwinch hubs?
Post by: whib on June 19, 2010, 10:47:03 PM
Hey there,
I'm looking at changing my auto hubs on the vitara (tracker). On lowrange.com I noticed that the Warn hubs for the vitaras(trackers) say the cv/axle Circlip is to be removed. So does the warn hub replace the circlip somehow within the hub, or is it simply just removed the circlip, if that's the case I would think the superwinches to be better as I dont fancy the idea of the axle/cv moving inboard and letting mud and crap into the hub?
anyone with experience or people have used these two types of tracker hubs your opinions would be great!!

I've been using Warn Premium Hubs for years on my 95 Tracker, with the circlip in place. Never a problem. Not sure what that's about.

The Warn hubs are designed for an SJ but you can keep the circlip if you fit a shim behind the hub. I wouldn't run without the circlip,I checked this on my Vit and the CVs will pullaway from the hub on full down travel.

Just go and get some genuine Factory Aisin hubs from a wreckers, ebay, etc. They are the best imho.

I didn't read anything about removing a circlip for the Warns, have them installed on my 90 Tracker.  It would make sense that the axle would pull out if you removed the circlip, so that wouldn't make any sense to do that  ???
