i have a 1995 geo tracker lsi 1.6 3 speed automatic. my rear differential i bad and i need to replace it if any one has one or any information on how to rebuild it it would be alot of help. Best bet would be to get a used one from a wrecking yard

is it the gears/bearings or the whole housing is shot? if it's just gears, then pm Skyhiranger i just recieved a complete 3rd member w/ gears from him today. everything is in good shape and a great price too. i'm sure he has one that'll work for you.

You have the 16V engine? If so, you should have 4.30 axle gears....which can be kinda hard to find (and I don't have any). 4.30s will be found in 2 door trackicks with the 16V engine and the 3 speed auto. Finding a whole complete third would probably be the easiest, especially if you aren't familar with setting up gears. To replace the third, pull the axleshafts out a little, unbolt the third, remove it and swap the other one in and put the axleshafts back in.

I have a complete 4.30 rear diff out af a 95 16V 3 speed auto, great shape only 60 K on it. PM me if your interested.
