With the tire lift combo questions that frequent the forum... let's get a list of what everybody has used and their likes/dislikes of their set up:

Vehicle off road use: forestry roads to rock crawling

Vehicle: 1992 Geo Tracker
Suspension Lift: Custom moded Trail Slayer SAS
Body Lift: none
Amount of trimming required: 3-4" in front and rear
Tire Make: Mickey Thompson MTZ
Tire Size: 37 x 12.50 x 17
Vehicle on road use: commuter to work and to wheeling destinations
Vehicle off road use: forestry roads to rock crawling, I try to avoid the mud (I hate the clean up)

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: The MTZ's are great on and off road for traction in every situation I have put them through. My only complaint so far is they wear quicker than past tires I have tried (MTR's, Interco and BFG MT's). But none of the others have performed as good off road, in snow or in wet conditions.

Vehicle: 1989 Suzuki Sidekick
Suspension Lift: Calmini 2" suspension lift
Body Lift: none
Amount of trimming required: none
Tire Make: Interco Thornbirds
Tire Size: 29 x 10.50 x 15
Vehicle on road use: Daily driver, work (hauling mowers on utility trailer)
Vehicle off road use: forestry roads, mild rock crawling, mud.

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: The Interco Thornbirds offered a happy medium between MT and AT off road. The tires are very heavy and 8-10ply tires that are hard as a rock on a small vehicle like a Kick. Even airing down below 10psi resulted in little tire wrap around obstacles. They did offer excellent wear but in my opinion, to heavy and thick walled of a tire for a Kick

Vehicle: 1996 Geo Tracker
Suspension Lift: Front GV Springs, 1.5" Strut Spacer.  1" Rear spring spacer and rear sway bar. 1" Wheel spacer
Body Lift: None
Amount of trimming required: Slight trimming on front fender, hammered ridge flat inside the fender well.
Tire Make: Toyo All Terrains
Tire Size: 235/75 R15
Vehicle on road use: Daily Driver
Vehicle off road use: Forest Roads/Sand Dunes

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: The tires work great just about everywhere.  The tread isn't quiet as aggressive as BFG's but are a nice quiet tread and have strong sidewalls being a light truck tire.  It's been great on ice and snow.

They do tend to follow the road if you don't have a proper alignment.  I haven't played with them in the mud, so I can't say how well they work in the slick stuff.

Vehicle: 1984 SJ-410
Suspension Lift: 5" Front RUF and folding shackles, 5" Rear 4 link with Rear 2-door Sidekick springs
Body Lift: None
Amount of trimming required: 3" out of rear fenders, Heavy trimming of front fenders.
Tire Make: Pro-Comp XTreme Mud Terrain Radial
Tire Size: 33x12.5x15
Vehicle on road use: Between Trails
Vehicle off road use: Heavy Trail Use

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: Great tires, drive down the road without issues despite being unbalanced up to 55 (Vehicle doesn't really go over that).  Thick sidewalls mean I don't have to worry about sidewall damage, usually run on the trail around 12lbs.  Siping of the center lugs was required, much like the old BFG MTR's, to allow the tire to open up and get more grips on rocks.  Not near as sticky of a tire as Swamper TSL's, but does allow a bit of wheel spin without tearing up your rig.  Tires clean out well, but can get packed if you don't have enough power to spin them clean.

The price has gone up since the old days when they were the best bang for their buck, if you want a true crawling tire they might be a little to stiff in the sidewalls being a radial.  Still, if you want a more classic tread pattern in your MTR they are a good choice.

Vehicle: samurai
Suspension Lift: virtual lift front.  tubbed fenderwells rear.  RUF.  5 leaf YJs on the rear. longer front shackles.  stock YJ rear shackles.
Body Lift: none
Amount of trimming required:  some at the front and rear of front fenderwells.  I also run lowered bumpstops....2" rear, 1" front.
Tire Make: TSL Radial at 5psi
Tire Size: 33x10.50-15
wheel size: 15x8 with 3.5" backspacing
Vehicle on road use: trail to trail
Vehicle off road use: trails and rockcrawling

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: excellent tire for my setup.  I like the skinny, tall tire and the radial sidewall which flexes very well.  heavy, thick sidewalls are the biggest drawback of bias ply super swamper tires, IMO (trackicks and samurais just don't have enough weight to them to make the sidewalls flex very well.  the tires have several cuts in the sidewall (2 ply), but none have caused them to leak air...I was a little concerned with the 2 ply sidewalls...but so far, so good.  the outer lugs seem to get rock rash and chunk pretty bad, but I suspect any tire would do the same in the same situations.

Body Lift: none
Amount of trimming required:  some at the front and rear of front fenderwells.  I also run lowered bumpstops....2" rear, 1" front.
Tire Make: heavily grooved BFG MTs at 8psi
Tire Size: 31x10.50-15
wheel size: 15x7 with 3.75" backspacing
Vehicle on road use: trail to trail
Vehicle off road use: trails and rockcrawling

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: good all around tire.  but I now run the TSLs in my previous post and think they are a better tire for what I do.  plus I like the added ground clearance of the 33s.  I ran the BFGs for 2 or 3 years and they worked well....grooving them did seem to help them do a little better though in the mud and loose dirt.

Vehicle: samurai
Suspension Lift: none
Body Lift: none
Amount of trimming required: none
Tire Make: TSL bias
Tire Size: 29x8.50-15 at 10-15 psi
wheel size: 15x7 with 3.75" backspacing
Vehicle on road use: trail to trail
Vehicle off road use: dirt trails, creek beds, sand, some rocks (creek bed), hunting vehicle

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice:  New, the tires have almost 1" of tread depth.....which is nice, but they dig FAST in loose, soft terrain.  I got them cheap (they were 3 months old at the time) and they are a good tire.  Very heavy sidewalls....they don't really flex much, but for what I use this samurai for, it isn't really a big deal.

Vehicle:89 Suzuki Sidekick
Suspension Lift:Calmini 2"
Body Lift:Calmini3"
Amount of trimming required: LOTS in the front including moving the floorboards back
Tire Make:BF Goodrich MT
Tire Size: 33x12.50x15
Vehicle on road use: Daily driver
Vehicle off road use: / forest road, rock climbing (med difficulty) and mud

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: The BFG MT's worked prety good on the sidekick. It was an improvement over the T_birds I had previous. They did well in the road, ride and wear, but lacked good traction in the greasy stuff (terrible on the wet rocks of tellico)

Vehicle : 95 Geo Tracker
Suspension lift: Aprox 4" Combination of Calmini front coils, 1" coil spacers, OME struts and strut spacers, Custom lowered diff brackets, Hagon Mods, A Arm mods, FOA 16" rear coils, Doetch Tech shocks, Modded shock mounts, Hagon rear mods.
Body lift: compressed RR 2" now down to about 1.5"
Amount of trimming required: Almost none ( but needs rear inner fender lip trimmed for stuffability without rubbing)
Tire make: BFG AT KO
Tire Size: 32x11.50 on 7" wide alloy rims rims 3.5 " back spacing
Vehicle on road use: From everyday driving to cross country touring.
Vehicle off road use: Forest roads, two track trails, no trail at all cross country bushwacking, intermediate rock crawling, water crossing, and I too try and avoid mud if at all possible, but sometimes it just ain't!
Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: All around a great tire on and off road in most situations I've encountered. Great in sand, dirt, rocks, slickrock, gravel roads, good ride quality everywhere, exceptional on road in wet, dry and snow, OK in mud, but hell, I hate the stuff and avoid it like the plague!
I've also used Super Swamper TSL radials in the 31X9.50 variety, and they were great off road, but rode like a tractor on pavement.

Vehicle:  '96 Tracker 4-door
Suspension Lift:  Jeff's 2" lift with '95 mustang shocks
Body Lift: none
Amount of trimming required: About a 2" "triangle" of sheet metal cut out of the front fender,  plastic inner fender moved back at the bottom,  lip on firewall pounded flat,  lip on rear quarter panel notched and folded up(rear tires still rub on full articulation)
Tire Make: BFG M/T
Tire Size:  30x9.5 on 15x8, 3.75 BS
Vehicle on road use:  Everyday driver to work, road trips to camping, driven to trails
Vehicle off road use: Fire/logging roads,  local ATV trails and mud pits,  creek/riverbed crawlin, and generally  makin trails anywhere I can fit

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice:   I really have no dislikes with the BFGs,  they've amazed me with their durability,  and the traction is great so far, I don't do alot of rocky stuff,  but with them aired down they wrap around rocks and logs real well.  GREAT tread wear,  I'm at about 16,000 miles now and they have about 3/4 tread left,  I keep 'em at 35 pounds of air on road to minimize edge cupping, and rotate about every 3000 miles.

Vehicle: 91 Tracker
Suspension Lift: 4"... Modified 3" Calmini with foa coils and OME struts, and rancho rear shocks
Body Lift: 3"
Amount of trimming required: none
Tire Make: Super Swamper TSL's
Tire Size: 32X9.50 on a 7" rim with 2.5" backspacing
Vehicle on road use: driven to and from 4 wheeling trails and occasional cruise in town
Vehicle off road use: Snow, rock, sand, pretty much anything I come across, But I do stay out of the mud when possible

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: I find that TSL's are not the best at any one type of terrain but are good in all different types of terrain which makes them very versatile. Since I use the truck for a little of everything I do like them

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: So far so good, only 1,500 miles on them, much quieter than expected.  Still playing with pressure levels.

Next thing I need/want is rocker panel protection, some thing about the Rocky Mountains?...

Vehicle: 1990 sidekick
Suspension Lift: grand vitara coils front/rear
Amount of trimming required: bit of hammering of the frame at the back of the front wheelwells, and rub on that back under max flex
Tire Make: kumho
Tire Size:31x10.5r15
Vehicle on road use: Daily Driver

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: picked up 4 for the price of one new one with a good amount of tread left. ive only had them out in some light mud, dirt trails, and some sand, but ive seen them hang with boggers and tsl's on another sidekick

it needs a 1inch to 2inch spacer in the back to make it clear. the rear gv coils didnt lift it much.

Hi everyone

Vehicle: 1997 Sidekick Sport 1.8L AT (5.12:1 R&P at the moment).
Suspension Lift: 2.5" Old Man Emu consisting of: struts, springs and 1" hard rubber spacers. From Rocky Road Outfitters.
Body Lift: 2" From Rocky Road Outfitters.
Amount of trimming required: Hmm... ALOT! Mostely on the front.
Tire Make: Bridgestone REVO 2
Tire Size: 285/70 R17
Vehicle on road use: Daily driver, grocery getter, to work and home.
Vehicle off road use: Dirt roads, minor rock crawling, extreme glacial river crossing, everyware it will take me :)

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: This has got to be by far one of the best tires out there! It does everything very well. It even is decent at self cleaning after mud and snow. Bites pretty well on Ice and is unbelievably quiet on pavement. The 285/70 R17 (33x11.5) size gives me nice clearance over rough terrain and has not let me down.
Dislikes, not much. The tires are a bit pricey but worth it. I had a slight wobble problem shortly after the lift install and didn't realize it was a loos ti-rod end until it had worn a little off the sides of the front tires, so they are a little prematurely worn. I would have preferred the REVO 1 tire above this REVO 2 design. I have used the REVO 1 on my dads 4x4 Grand Cherokee for about 3 years in a 31" size and those are the best tires I have ever used. The newer REVO 2 is a little more quiet on pavement but not as good on ice and I feel the noise was not an issue with the first design, but Ice traction is. This is only just slightly noticeable though and not so bad as to warant any major concern. The reason I have the REVO 2 is that when I order the REVO 1 it was out of stock at Tire Rack and the upgraded me to the REVO 2 free of charge. At that time the REVO 2 was somewhat more expensive.

Vehicle: sj 410
Suspension Lift: custom 3 link front and rear..  16" coil over coil's and bilstein shocks, probably 2" lift over stock
Body Lift: dropped atleast 1" due tue rust and beating
Amount of trimming required: 1/4 of the frame, most of the hood, most of the body
Tire Make: interco
Tire Size: 38.5 x 11 - 16
Vehicle on road use: the odd trip between a trail or two
Vehicle off road use: every weekend from snow, mossy rock, dirt, water falls, moab, sand
Likes and dislikes of your tire choice  they tend to slide sideways on extreme off camber slimy rocks, they also cover my zuk in mostly every thing they touch at any speed. also one of them has some sort of defect with every 3rd inside lug causing most of them to tear off ( gotta talk to interco bout that )..  likes are they are skinny and light weight, hook up really well in loose terrain and they dig great holes pissing off any one behind me ;D

Vehicle: 86 Samurai
Suspension Lift: 3" homemade shackles (they suck and I want new good ones), SPOA
Body Lift: none yet but I kinda want a 1" or 2" body lift
Amount of trimming required: fenders ripped off while off road before the SPOA was done
Tire Make: Big O Brand "Big Foot XT" tires
Tire Size: 31 x 10.50 x 15
Vehicle on road use: Daily driver and to wheeling destinations
Vehicle off road use: forestry roads to mild rock crawling, mud, snow, rocks, small car tires (to pop bead on the rim), once a couch, curbs, small creek crossings, puddles

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice: So far the XT's are awesome on and off road, they have a slight howl to them but I like that.   ;D
My only real dislike is that I have not been able to do a lot with them since I bought them because I began driving semi cross country and since then I have not had the money to do much wheeling, and that I did not buy them back in 2000 when I first got my Zuk

Vehicle:1993 Sidekick 4-door
Suspension Lift:Jeff's Spacers
Body Lift:2 inch RRO
Amount of trimming required:Lots.  I still rubbed in the rear under full flex with only trimming the inner fender lip so I just took out everything I could.  In the rear I was limited by the doors but I trimmed as far as I could. I even trimmed the lip from the bottom of the door.  I figure trimming is free lift AND free weitght loss so why not.
Tire Make:El Cheapo re-caps
Tire Size:31*10.50
Vehicle on road use:daily driver, unpaved county roads
Vehicle off road use: hunting, fishing, camping, and looking for things to drive over or through

Likes and dislikes of your tire choice:I really dont like them much.  I think its the idea of running a re-cap I hate.  They are noisy but I dont mind that.  They are a MT and go great but they are still a re-cap.
