Title: front/rear stretch

Im thinkin about stretching my samurai addin 6-10."  it seems like it would be easier to lengthen the rear as opposed to the front.  is there a benefit to doing the fron instead of the rear?

You might look at moving the axles towards the ends of the truck
to stretch it, and that will greatly improve approach and departure
without causing you to get high centered with a stretched frame

Longer springs are a good way of gaining wheelbase and increasing flex and ride comfort. Moving the front forward gives a lot more clearance for bigger tyres. A Rear Spring Up front (RUF) conversion and YJ or similar springs at the rear will gain a few inches, search round the net for details.

 I second this motion....I stretched my old samurai front and rear this way and was running an 87" wheelbase without relocating the gas tank.You could gain a couple inches by moving the tank back from it's stock location also.

I have the RUF/SPOA/1.5" lifted springs/1" shackles and right now still have my old tires (29s) but im just worried its gonna be too teetery with as short and narrow of a stance.  since the springs are literally brand new (3 miles) i cant justify sellin em and gettin the YJ conversion yet...  what do you mean moving the front forward?

 Since your running new aftermarket spring's there is not much you can do to lengthen the wheelbase...You can redrill the spring perches and gain an inch at each axle,or cut off the factory mount's,move them to desired wheelbase and weld back on,then remount the shackle hanger's.

 If your worried about height would going back to SPUA be an option??? With your new 1.5 inch spring's,add longer shackle's and some fender mod's or a small body lift should have you running up to a 32" tire.

You can redrill the spring plates to move the axle forward an inch or so. For stability you really need to go a bit wider, less backspacing/wider rims is an easy way to achieve this.

maybe that will get it then, getting 2.5" bs on i think 15x8 or 10 and then will end up gettin spacers also i think
