For what vehicle?

For a 1989 2 door 4x4 sidekick, the caliper pin bolts are supposed to be torqued betweeen 16 and 23 lb-ft.

Wow!  This is horrible.

I tried to look this up in my 1990 Geo Tracker Service Manual.  I couldn't find the torque specs on the caliper mounting bolts.  The spec on the caliper pin bolts is listed as 65 ft-lbs.

Then I looked in my Haynes Manual for 1986-1993 Samurai, Sidekick and Tracker and found 29 to 43 ft-lbs for the caliper "holder" bolts (which I'm assuming are the "pin" bolts) and 36 to 57 ft-lbs for the caliper mounting bolts.

These two manuals are really falling short in this department :o

That is quite a difference!  I got my value from the 1989 Sidekick Factory Service Manual.

Not sure, but I always turn the bolts with a 3/8" drive Craftsman(brand not specific, just a size reference) ratchet just a little past snug. Tap it with the palm of your hand to a firm stop.
That's just I do it, hope that helps.
