Title: 99 GV Timing Chain
Post by: liftedgvottawa on July 15, 2010, 04:33:49 AM
Any of you had problems with the timing chain on your Grands?  Mine makes a little noise and I read online that they had some issues with guides wearing out...Not sure what to do.   I don't want to if its not necessary.  Thanks.

I know the 2.0L have issues if you don't use the correct weight oil and it causes the guides to wear out early.  Hopefully someone with that generation of vehicle will add something.

Stick with the 5-30w oil, timing chain stretch and guide wear are
the symptoms of using too heavy oil
