Just wanted to say hey! This '01 XL-7 has been in my family for 10 years now (bought new), and had made its' way to becoming my winter car.  However, I just sold my 2006 Pontiac GTO so I've made it my new daily driver.  Sold the GTO because I really want something I can drive year round, not have to store, and I got tired of the payments.  Along with the pain of being a six speed in Chicago  :P Sold with 430 rwhp and 33,000 miles on the clock.  I look forward to learning as much as I can about the XL-7.

This was my old GTO: http://s399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/oobaisi/BOM%20GTO/ (http://s399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/oobaisi/BOM%20GTO/)

It is possible to lock the front end.

or swap in the rear end from a GV, it will bolt in, just make sure your gears are the same, the only beef is that you wont have 28 spline axles in the back, but not a big deal depending on what size tire you want to run....

i will have to look into this more. i heard about the GV rear but thought it was a downgrade weaker why spend the time and money. my tires are around 30"   might have to start a new thread maybe there is hope for me.

ya, the gv is a 26 spline axle  (smaller) and the xl7 is a 28 spline......however, with a 30 inch tire you will never have a problem.....

26 is the same spline count as in the sidekicks, and this guys run 33" tires all the time with no problems
