Just wanted to say hi, I am new here...not new to forums, but new to Suzuki's.....in fact, this is a whole new direction for me, but I just liked the looks of the green little car. I will make this as short as possible. My son's house burned to the ground, he was living with 2 other dudes, all fresh college grads, just getting started out. They lost everything, including his car. I wanted to help him out, so I went car shopping, stumbled upon this little car, fresh out of "divorce" case...lol...anyway, I know "not a thing" about this car. I have been on here reading thru all the posts and such...so I need a history lesson...to see where to find parts, needs the rocker panel trim, and some other little things. I am a car guy, big SUV guy as well, but I would like to do a CAI, any other small mods to get her moving a little quicker. Unfortunetly, it is an auto...but we bought it anyway, lol...so, point this old guy in the right direction and I won't bug you too much....thanks...future Zukiholic....

Well I hate to break this to you, but you got the "powerful" engine ;)
16V puts out about 95 HP, but you could perk it up a little with a 2"
exhaust and do a tune up.
Welcome to the board

well, thanks for the reply. I don't know a thing here but reading and learning fast....what model can I compare it too for parts or add-on's? The tracker? It is missing part of the driver's side skirt. Is there something to replace it with or are these types of parts still available from the dealer? Sorry for all the questions, but couldn't find the answers in the search feature. Thanks for the welcome btw....Doc

The mechanical parts are the same as a Tracker or a SideKick, but the
body is unique so there aren't other models that interchange other than
with another x-90.
You might want to call Hawk's Strictly Suzuki for some of those body parts,
I don't know if there are any parts available at the dealers these days.
Hawk's # is 1-800-samurai

I loved my X... But it was always a task to find body parts. I actually saw a guy with two of them for sale, cheap, on Craig's list.. only one ran but was wrecked. I would of bought them to part out, but they were to far away.... There use to be an X-90 owners forum that you could resource parts from.. Cant remember the name though.
Welcome to Zukiworld, and enjoy your new X.

Thanks Zuk....I will check it out. she's not a cherry by no means, a few scratches, few small dents, but never off roaded, lady owned...has 30k on it...it was a toy for them...kind of like a golf cart for these people...lol...anyway, I bought it, loaning it to my kid until he gets back on his feet from a fire that destroyed everything....then I hope to mod it a bit and get back to looking pretty again...but a little more masculine this time around...thanks again...I will be hovering around here for awhile...

This is what a Calmini 2" lift and wheel spacers can do for it...

I wish it looked that good, but it is a start...looking for the rocker panels driver's side...found some, but wanted a little more than I would like to spend...may have to fab something up

well, the little zuki is doing fine....it has a rebuild title, but we can't find anything, frame, fenders, nothing that shows replacement. She has a few scrapes that indicate it has been thru a fence or at least scratches from the brush. I am now wondering if had been stolen, or something of this nature. Previous long time owner did own a very large and popular salvage yard. If she had been stolen, and tied up for awhile, it would explain the low mileage and such. There just isn't any wear on this vehicle, other than the light scrapes and few small dents here and there. It looks all new under the hood, along the frame, suspension, interior...the lady said when she traded it in, it was given to her new by her husband, who owned the salvage yard as a birthday gift. It was just a toy for them to drive now and then. They divorced and she didn't want it anymore. She didn't know there was a problem with the title until she tried to trade it for another car. Any ideas? It is green in color, but under the hood, inner fenders, trunk lid, trunk interior walls are all painted gray. Was it normal for zuki to not paint the interior portions of the car? I mean it is painted, but not like the exterior...it drives fine, air con works fine and blows cold air...motor running smooth....I can't find anything wrong other than a dinged rim on the rear, and one tire that doesn't match the other 3...figuring the dinged wheel, was the reason for the new tire...

My trucklet is painted all the same under the hood

I posted a link in the classified section for Craigslist. A guy is selling X-90 parts.

We have a silver '96 and a black metallic '97. Both are grey under hood and in the trunk area.
Had the '97 auto first. Kindof a slug but it keeps up with traffic fairly well.
Took my '96 5speed on a 1000 mile roundtrip and it handled it very well, and it was a HOT mofo that weekend!
Nothing modded yet, the black one has aftermarket wheels and 215 60X16s (vs. the stock 195 65 15) so a little slow out of the hole, but can carry a decent topend.
My 5 speed has 205 75 15 which puts it 8.4% faster than the speedo says. And I can still squack em in first and second.
Both cars have 160K and don't smoke at all.
Weird thing though, the faster I drive it, the closer the speedo is to accurate.
With the 16s from my wifes car, at indicated 55 read 64 on GPS, but when indicated 70 GPS consistently said 72.
I've also been clocked by those radar trailers cops set up to get you to slow down, indicated 20mph radar said 29. That was with the 205 75 15, which is the tallest tire you can fit under a stock X90.
I always thought speedo error due to big tires was fairly consistent at least percentage wise.
