Today or tomorrow im going to start my t-case drop, much like most of the stuff i have done i have no idea what to do first. any tips or direction would be much appreciated
-
Are you running to severe of drive-line angles currently? How much lift do you have?
-
i dont think they are too severe at this time, 5" SPOA/1.5" springs/RUF/1" shackles. 1" driveline spacers. total its ~7.5"
-
why would you lower your t-case ?
wouldn't that just increase your angles between the tansmission and the t-case ?
**** EDIT **** that makes more sense.... taking it out to swap gears. I thought you were talking about lowering it.
-
na sorry, i need to take it out bc im puttin in 6.5 gears in it and i have no idea what bolt to take off first etc.
-
Here's a set of instructions from our Gear Guide section... It's for a different brand of gears but the installation is similar.

drain TC
pull driveshafts
remove speedo cable
remove shift lever
unplug 4x4 switch for dash light
remove 3 bolts on TC mounts
remove TC from vehicle
...did I forget anything?
-
thanks, im startin this afternoon so we'll see

When you put it back in place make sure you use locktight on the bolts holding the t-case to the mounting brackets. If you don't they have a nasty habbit of working loose. Loose bolts means your t-case can twist in unexpected ways and you will break your case in twain.

thanks for the help, got it out almost without a hitch. got the gears put back in and just waitin to get my cradle so i can remount it, and ill be sure to use the locktite.
