Title: Goodyear MTR are they good

Im in a debat i do alot of street driving and i do some off roading im thinking of gettin some good year MTR or BFG
A/T or M/T

I do alot of driving in the winter in the snow just wondering how these tires are on ice and so forth

I do a ton of highway driving and I would say if you do the offroading occationally go with the AT/S's from goodyear. I'm pretty picky, so I went with the tires with the less road noise. All those tires are great on/off road and great in snow and on ice, but I haven't have a problem with mine so far, and mine are used! I'm sure there are a lot of opinions out there, lots of the guys on here swear by the MTR's, but I found them to be a bit 'clunky', plus I couldn't get a good enough deal on the ones I found used... good luck with the investment!

MTR's are GREAT tires and if you have the cash for them you will NOT bedisappointed on the street and definately not disappointed on the trail.  ;)

I love my MTR's. Great ride on and off road. 33's are smooth up to 80. (probably faster but the Kick wont go any faster :P)

Maybe on a Full Size truck!! Man Zuki's weigh next to nothing and if you use proper air levels and rotate the tires they will last a very long time ;)

One thing to look out for with MTRs is price gouging (sp?). Six months ago when I bought my 35" MTRs, I priced 5 tires by calling all of the advertisers in the national mags.  Some claimed there were shortages due to the war and increases in prices. I was quoted up to $225 per tire. I ended up going with America's Tire (maybe they have a sister corp in Canada) and paid $162 per tire with mounting and balancing. The tires were shipped from the wherehouse and ready the next day. AT had never heard of a shortage.



I can't help you with snow questions, we have earthquakes, not blizzards :D



I went with the MTR because it was lighter than other 35s and had a good reputation for sidewall strength. Just my .02.



BTW what does .02 U.S. covert to in Canadian?

I have never run a better tire in the ice and snow.  I dont think the MTRs can be beat in the "All around" department. I highly recomend them and Im hard to sway from Swampers.
