Title: transmission bolt torque???
Post by: cmatt1605 on July 29, 2010, 12:58:54 PM
i need to know what torque to put the bolts on the back of the transmission. (the rear part of the trans that has to come off before spiting the case) i know its not just tight, i tried that and it locked up the front shaft. does ANYONE know what torque it is? 10 ft lbs seems to be too much

8mm studs? or takes a 12 mm wrench? 10 ft lbs is about right, or 8
but if it's locking up the front shaft, you have another problem in that
trans, better pull it back apart and check your work

figured out the problem, while it was in the parts washer the reverse gear came loose and i did not notice the little wedge that had to go back in the grove, a slight turn of the gear fixed my issue and it all went together without any problems.
