well question for all. I have a weber carb on my 1.3 no other polution crap on the motor other then the pcv set up.
currently I have that running from the top of the valve cover splitting with a smaller hose down to the pcv valve.
and then a larger hose running into the top of my air cleaner for my weber with a filter for this hose inside the air cleaner.
the question is. I found oil inside my air cleaner before I put a filter on that hose for the pcv valve. that problem is taken care of. I smell burnt oil coming off a hill. I think that it is pushing oil back into my motor through the pcv valve and causing this.
can I plug that off and just use the vent to the aircleaner? will this cause to much crankcase pressure? any ideas?
anyone else have this problem?
by the way this motor only has 10,000 miles on it. with a lot of mods.

i was using my stock aircleaner(w/that adapter on the weber), so my PCV/vent was as you decribe.
i had no problem of excess oil in the air cleaner. stock did not use a filter on the crankcase vent in the filter housing so i didn't add one.
i have had to replace the PCV a couple of times.
do you have a lot of blow-by(sounds like)?

boy sure seems like it motor bored new pistons and rings beats me must be. I just vented it to the carb called it good.

So you have it split with a smaller hose? one is going to the top of the air cleaner and where is the other one going?
I would run it to the carb and call it good! or to the intake manifold if there is a place to do so, like the old pontiacs.

the smaller hose goes down to the pcv valve on the intake manifold. I plugged that one off running to the top of the air cleaner now only. works good. no more burning oil smell.

You're buring the oil fumes either way - one way you're sucking it directly into the manifold through the PCV valve, the other way, you're sucking it through the carburettor.

its not the fumes I m burning it pushes oil up the hose and into the filter. prob blow by for some reason.
