Why would Suzuki not compete with Jeep and build a suv that could compare with the JK Wrangler...I think they are missing out big time these days....or at least bring the Jimny into North America. This is just crazy how the last good Suzuki 4x4 was made in 1998.
It's over 12 years now since they have had anything decent for us on the market. Such a bloody shame.

They sort of did try to compete, but they borrowed a platform
from Nissan instead of tooling a totally new vehicle themselves.
Yes it is a shame, both Nissan and Toyota have tooled V8 engines
and full size vehicles, it would seem Suzuki would want to tool up
at least a mid size 4x4 to replace the XL7, add a bigger V6 or a small
8 and enter the N. American market with a 4WD to compete with
the US and other foreign builders

Yeah, I guess 12 years isn't all that long...and who knows what next year will bring. A diesel 4X4 Convertable would do the trick.

Here's the question though... Would you pay $25,000 for a JK comparable Suzuki with that diesel and convertable top?

Of course. Because the $35,000 Jeep wouldn't have a diesel in it.
