Title: Feeler: Fiberglass half doors for a Samurai
Post by: MiniFJ on August 09, 2010, 05:01:18 PM: Putting a feeler out here to see how many people out there in the world of Suzuki would be interested in a set of fiberglass half doors for a Samurai. I have been cutting doors down and welding them up but I'm thinking about moving forward in producing a fiberglass version of the half doors. Shooting for the $270 - $290 price range a set, they will include latches and nut plates for the factory door hinges. Below is a few pictures on the metal version I make now. The fiberglass version will look exactly the same. Let me know if you guys out there are interested!!

Post by: MiniFJ on August 09, 2010, 10:06:39 PM: The fiberglass ones would be smooth on the inside with the location and nut plate for the door straps like the factory door. The metal ones above have room for a custom door panel inside and factory pull handle

....so would fiberglass hoods, windshield frames, and possibly front end parts....Oh, and tubs!

Post by: tuxblacray on February 26, 2012, 06:56:18 PM: Oh how timely this was.... LOL... I just gutted 2 doors today and cut them down to make the exact same thing. I had never seen them on a Sammi until today.

Thanks for the photo's now I know I am headed in the ritee direction with the welds.

You should buy up some extra doors and have them ready to ship!! Would save double shipping on oversize parts. There are no sami's to be found around here for parts... plenty of track/kicks go through the bone yards though.
