Title: Rattle in 5th gear.
Post by: 87Sav on August 24, 2010, 07:12:22 AM
I haven't driven my Sammy for long, but every time I go around 45-50 in 5th gear (usually right when I go to 5th gear)  it starts making a rattling noise. My dad says it sounds like the transmission. To explain the noise it's like a... Knocking/Rattling sound. It ONLY happens in 5th gear. Any suggestions?

Check your trans oil, and it could be trans bearings, it's common
for a Samurai, not sure why tho

put the t-cast in NEUTRAL so you can shift through the gears and rev to get a better listen to the gears and sounds its making..
