Title: Made a Stinger
Post by: S.Sidekick on August 28, 2010, 12:51:50 PM
Here is the stinger i fabed up to fit in front of the stock bumper.

It not only helps me see my front, but ties in the frame extention to the original frame.

And i took a Toyota spare wheel carrier and modified it to fit on the sidekick OEM one.

So, how are you going to open the hood after it gets bent back, as there is no upper support for it? Around here, every once in awhile, the trees and rocks manage to sneak up and smack the crap outta ya, esp. going down hill.

Unless he is using some low grade pipe instead of DOM it bending shouldn't be an issue.  Unless it rips off the frame.  :D

With the amount of freespan that he has, even DOM would start to bend, given enough abuse. Hopefully, he never has to use it THAT hard.  :o  I do like the re-use of the 'yota tire rack. I do that alot when I switch bolt patterns between my Fords and Jeeps.  The VW Buggy just gets a rachetstrap, though.  :P

haha there is no way that will bend. My father i nlaw gave it to me. Its 1 1/4 schedule 40 pipe. The pipe is over 1/8 thick because it is sprinkler systme pipe and the thicker pipe is used for threading. lol
