Title: X90 power window regulator/motor
Post by: sprocket on September 02, 2010, 01:44:50 AM
Where can I get replacement regulator for X90?
I can find them for Tracker/Sidekick but not sure if that will work on X90 as the bodies are different.
My '97 has a dead driver motor and the passenger side is very weak. The passenger side also gets stuck full down and rocks in the tracks when pushing it up manually (to assist the power)
My '96 is also a bit slow on the driver side but so far not being a problem.

We love our X90s but finding parts outside of driveline is a bear.

You might just need a new motor.  The regulator itself may be fine.  I don't know, but I would guess the motors themselves are the same between a trackick and x90.  The whole regulator assembly might be the same too, but I don't know for sure.
On the slow rolling up....it sounds like you need to adjust the window/regulator and lube the weatherstripping.  The regulator does have some adjustment to it, where it bolts to the door shell and I use spray silicone to lube up the weatherstripping.

Sky nailed this one... almost all X-90 have the window issue. The unit should be fine... do as he said above and also pull the door panel to check that the glass is still secure in the clamp inside the door... these frequently come loose allowing the glass to tilt slightly in the track and causes it to bind (and thence move very slow)

Thanks Sky and pilot. Got a long weekend to look deeper into it. The rocking thing you described sounds right. Hopefully just adjust it in and roll with it. I need one motor for sure, bu that should be easy enough to find.
