hey guys im new here. im getting a suzuki sam for free from my father in law. he said i can have it if i can fix it. he had said the engine is locked up in it. it has been sittin for awhile now, what are some of the things that i should look for, before i go tear the engine apart? i just want to be sure its not something small to fix. he said it just quit running one day. any help would be appreciated thanks

Drain the oil and look for signs of metal, could be the oil pump
failed or the over pressure valve is stuck open and she ran low
on pressure and seized

OHH, and welcome to the forum ;D

would that over pressure valve be an easy fix or would it have to have a rebuild?

couple of things you need to know about this form. There are many great dudes that can help walk you through any fix, but if Wildgoody, Drone, or Zig speak to you it is as good as coming from the mouth of the Zukigod himself! Welcome! You will spend a bunch of money and have a great time doing it here. Don't let your wife know about your new addictive habit.

Don't forget about Ack, and Skyhiranger, both have great advice,
but we all support each other to keep you running
