Title: Check engine light on
Post by: Zuki-Girl on September 23, 2010, 05:49:15 PM
95 Sidekick 1.6 16 valve

Check engine light came on going to work this morning. Came home and crossed B & D terminals no flashing of light at all, checked manual and it says might problem with light circuit. Do the Sidekicks and Trackers have the same switch for the check engine light as the Sammi's do? And if so,where did they hide it?

Not sure about the Sammi's, I've got a '92 and there is a switch to reset the check engine light.  It is behind the dash just to the left of the steering colum.  You can access the switch by either removing one of the plugs in the dash just to the left of the steering colum (or switch depending on options) or you can remove the left front speaker from the dash and access the switch that way. The switch is just up and to the right of the speaker hole. I think the light is set to come on at set mileage intervals so you take it into the stealership for diagnosis.  Hope this helps.

Found it. It was easy to get to,just remove the snap in plastic piece from under the colunm and there it was. Flipped it and everything is back to normal again. Thanks for the help!
