What is the difference?  other then the air bags on the 1997.  I believe both are OBD1 1.6 16V. The 97 in question is an LXI model...
I know that the two trucks are of the same basic platform but what little things did they change?
I do not recall the split for the different front Arms, & Axle shafts & I have not been able to verify that front A-arms actually changed on the later years.  Any one with tech facts please reply. ÂÂ

The '97 has the bigger axle shafts. I believe it was a government mandation that all '97 model years were OBD 2 compliant :-/

the 97 has 26 spline front end. i think the 94 has 22.

Yes, there is a different A-arm on later models, not
a major change, on my 89' the ball joint bolts to the
bottom of the A-arm, later ones have like a pocket
that the ball joint slides into, I think it would make lifting
and assembly more of a PITA.
