Hi Guys,
I just did a major service on my SJ413, timing belt, crank seals, cam seals, oil change, plugs etc.
Car is running like a dream, only problem is that she now consumes so much more fuel than prior to the service.
I use to get 300kms per tank, now it's significantly dropped to under 200kms per tank. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? Have I accidentally adjusted something I shouldn't have??
Please help.

The only thing I can think of is if your carburetor now needs a bit of a tune-up. You shouldn't see a 30% drop in mileage over a tune-up.
Have you double checked your timing?

Mate, thanks for reply.
I'm hoping the carby is ok, she is ideling a little higher than usual, might shine the timing light on her and check it out.
Are there any key signs of timing being slightly off?

Idle being off, usually you will notice the power being at a different spot then before, or a dead zone in your throttle. You might try running higher grade gas, if your idle is to far advanced it will run much better with premium fuel.

Did you gap the spark plugs before fitting them?

I think you should put a timing light on it. that will also tell you it the timing belt is off a tooth. interesting problem. keep us posted.
