Feast yer eyes. Sneek peek at the soon to be released SAS coversion upgrade for the Sidkicks and Gen 1 Trackers. It uses a Sammy axle with EMPI/Spidey/TT axles. This is either a full kit, or for those with the Calmini 3" system, an upgrade for the front. Linked with coil-overs, this is the answer to many, especially those who already have time and money investing into their ride with lockers, gears and lift. Debuting at the Expo this week, its sure to create news
And yes, *rumor* is the Gen I Vits/GVs/XL7s will have a similar set-up, with a custom wider front axle based on the existing Anvil IFS axle.

That is all

I thought Calmini abandoned all ideas of a SAS years ago! Well this is cool...
Some questions I have:
How do they account for the different axle width (Samurai axles are narrower than Trackick's)? Add wheel spacers in the front? Or is it a custom housing with custom axle shafts and all?
An upgrade for the front for those with the 3" lift? Will the rear be lifted more, or the front just won't be as tall as it is in these pics?
Any reinforcement for those factory strut towers?
Front driveline will be provided, or will the stock front one with spacer be enough?
I'm sure these things have already been figured out, but I'm wondering how they did it.

Cool. I hope the vice grips are included, I could use a new pair!
-
That's awesome... Glad to see some Calmini Blue on new products for the Kicks again... Cant wait to see the final results...

This seems like it was taylored for my rig. Too bad I can't see the pictures.
-
Now I can see 'em, drool.......
-
That thing is just begging for Spider9's front and rear.
-
Thanks for showing us. I had a feeling this was the direction they would take when you mentioned "new" products coming out last SEMA.
Looks good. Along with djlantis57 I'm curious about the strut tower holding coilovers.....maybe a strut bar to help or strengthened...I wander.
I'm sure we will get to see more soon? Zukiworld review/test?
-
very nice, now people that run 2nd gen's need something!!!
-
As i understand, laser cut weld-on gussets reinforce the strut tower.
Gen II is being developed currently.
MANY more Substantial things are under development right now, for the Kicker, GV and, of course, the Samurai.
Seems like Calmini has a fire in the belly for Suzuki once again.
Keep an eye right here on ZW for exciting official news about this and more from Big Blue.

Sure looks like it...they made that new stinger bumper for the Samurai, supposed to have one for the Trackicks soon, they are now officially selling and shipping the 2nd Gen Vitara/Tracker/GV winch bumpers, and now this...so it looks like they're really getting back into it...I sure hope they do! It'd be awesome to see more stuff on the market.
With gas prices on the rise, too, that may contribute to people buying more of these little rigs that are sitting in cobwebs.
And I thought that strut tower looked different, but I figured maybe it was because it was stripped/sanded and painted

Except they're getting harder and harder to find in decent condition.

Keep the info coming on this

Keep dreaming boys!

I like the new front bumper. :)
-
Man, if I wasn't so broke from being outa work for over a year I'd be all over that.
-
that is nice! Wonder what size coilovers they are running I was looking into modifying my Trailtough kit to coilovers using some TJ brackets.. But then I bought a house and well now I am broke! Well maybe just reallocated!
-
wait a min, that last pic is an IFS kit with coilovers on it...Hmm may have to modify the Challenge rules to allow coil overs!! Looks like they have some sort of knuckle extender to an upper A-arm of some sort... Kewl!!
-
It doesn't look like a Tracker front end. With the picture in the background I am guessing it is a Nissan kit.
-
I want one. When can we expect the kicker sas to be available.

That's the 2005 and later Frontier/Xterra/Equator 5" system.

Yup, but it is still a Zook system technically. Lots of new stuff coming our for production very soon.
Wait until you see what they got coming for the Samurai. Totally off the hook.
I'd tell/show ya, but I'd have to kill you afterword.
-
Know when this will be marketed?
-
I like the new front bumper. :)
Those guys are using all your ideas.
Those "laser cut weld-on gussets" look better than our "do you think this will be strong enough" torch cut scrap gussets. Seems to have been strong enough, at least for now.
If you get any time off for Xmas, we could help Santa (or Calmini) design both bumpers.
-
I should have at least two days off. That would make a great present. :)

Oh yeah!! This is what I'll get when I'm ready to add 4wd to my 94 Tracker
