I have a 1998 4-door Tracker and my driver side window switch quit working. It rolls down the passenger side and the door lock button works but it will not roll down the driver window. It originally got stuck in the down position and I hooked the motor to a battery to roll it up, so I know the motor is good.
Is there a common problem with a ground or something? I am thinking about wiring it with a aftermarket toggle switch to get it to work.
Any suggestions? ???

I had the same problem on my 97. The driver's switch is worn out. The others will work but the driver's gets the most use and thus the contacts wear out or like mine break. I got a new switch assembly off ebay for like $15. It is just a plug and play fix then. Try the junk yards also.

I looked on ebay and they are wanting $80-$100 for a switch. I will keep a look out on ebay and will try to get a cheap one.
