Title: need help fast with vacuum lines.

The two items circled with a line connecting them is what im lost on. I have a hose that the mechanic working on my sami forgot to put on that has what looks like a check valve, does the line connect these two items? I really need help in making sure this is correct since my sami is starting to run bad again and I just got it back from my mechanic. Does anyone also have vacuum diagrams?

sorry its on an 87 samurai with a 1.3 motor

Is there a diagram under your hood?
