The Zukiworld 'Zukfari will be held during the Easter Jeep Safari week. If you are considering going, now's a good time to start making reservations. We will be having several trail rides during the week and a dinner and raffle for Suzuki enthusiasts to help raise money for pro-OHV causes.
Stay tuned!

One of the most expensive parts other than the Gas to get there is lodging. A lot of people camp around the area and there is some free camping up a couple of the canyons but I'd recommend getting something close or in town. There is a lot going on during the week besides wheeling and it's fun to be a part of it. Slick Rock campground is a popular low cost camp ground on the North Side of town. They have some ammenities for the campers and service tents all the way up to large Motor homes... Another good idea is to get a Condo and share it with your buddies... There are a lot of 8 person condos that go for around $200/night. Divided by 8 that makes a pretty good deal considering you're in a full equipped house w/garage and all...

Zukfari is held in Moab Utah, about 100 miles from the Colorado border
off of I-70 and south about 25 Miles.
And as far as staying on the cheep, Pack Creek Campground all the way,
there are hookups if you are so inclined but there is also dry camping in the
back for about $100 for the week, and there are showers with plenty of
hot water, I've stayed there 3 years in a row now, nice bunch of people there too.

Is a schedule being put together for the Zukfari runs? I am getting registered for a couple of the EJS runs, and I'd like to schedule around the Zukfari runs.
Hoping to have the SAS for the "Tortus" done in time... otherwise, I'll be in the JK. :)

If you get there early in the week, the Corps of Engineers campgrounds along the Colorado river at 12 bucks a night (6 bucks for seniors with All Agency Pass.) After the first few days, there are still usually open sites at Ken's Lake (south of town) for the same prices. No hookups, no showers, pit toilets. Pack Creek is the least expensive with showers.

Don't you get nervous about camping next to a pile of Uranium tailings though? I mean, they keep it wet for a reason... :)

i dont know if im gonna make it this year. the biggest problem is towing. i dont want to drive and rely on driving back. but its still up in the air.
-
I first thought about driving a mildly built Samurai out there by myself and just hitting the scenic trails.
However, my GF is now coming along so I'm gonna flat tow a real beater so that we can hit the harder trails as well.
This year is the year to go. With Easter coming in late April, the weather is bound to be decent.

Man, I tell ya, after lookin at all the pics and vids of this trip I have to try soon to make it out, or at least to one of the events. You people look like the best group of folks to wheel with, and I've wheeled the East coast with lots of clubs.

Plan for next year and come on out... If you can get a group to go in on a hauler, it can be cheaper... There has been people from as far away as Tennesse drive their wheelers out; but they're crazy. :) Actually we've had Canadians come from a long, long ways away before too..
See ya next year???
