i was driving the sami today, popped it in 4wd just because i felt like it. (slow cruisin') went to put it in 2wd and it wont go. its not in 4wd either. its like its in the 4wd Hi spot and between 2wd. cant drive it at all. the shifter wont budge. im screwed lol. any thoughts? thanks

Grasshopper, you have a classic Samurai problem called the disintegrated shifter sheet!
The cure is to replace the shifter sheet which - fortunately - costs from 10 to 20 bucks!
Do a search for shifter sheet at Ack's FAQ (the link is in my signature, below) to find out how to fix it and where you can get a replacement shifter sheet.
I don't know of a single Samurai owner (myself included) who hasn't replaced their shifter sheet at least once...
FYI, I would go with the Zuks Offroad (ZOR) brass shifter sheet. It lasts forever!

I totally agree with ACK on this. I also have had to replace mine too it is a fairly easy part to replace just be careful that if yours is in pieces inside the case that you get out all the little parts of it out.

thanks! even if i dont have a new "sheet" i can still fix it to where its driveable. which is good, cause my boos comes back tomorrow! haha
now i just have to fix the over shift problem in the white sami.
