looking to finally get in the garage and install my coil spacer suspension lift. i figured since i was going to get in there and take it apart, i may as well replace my OE front struts. this is my daily driver, and usually only gets the occasional mild off road / trail use. just wanted to get some thoughts on which struts to go with. would love to get some OME or Billensteins, but i don't think i really need them, and the price tag has me looking more toward monroe's or KYB's, anybody got any thoughts or suggestions for me?

thanks,

Any brand name replacemant is going to be ok. Finding stock OE struts may be impossible anyway.

If you get the nameless brand from Autozone or Napa don't expect them to hold up. I destroyed a brand new set within two weeks after installing them.
Rallying around during the Fall Adventure Run that year didn't help. :D

I would highly recommend the OME struts... I was more than impressed with the ride and duriblity of them (this is after years of running the cheap ones with MikeRPM4x4 constantly telling me to quit being cheap and get the OME. I never regretted the extra cost for a second.

PS I have never ran the Billensteins struts, but I love their shocks on the SAS Kick.

I run the OMEs but to be honest I didn't see much difference between them and a good set of aftermarket struts. The OE units are only one way damped so any two way damped gas strut is going to be an inprovement. You also get more travel from a set of 2" strut spacers than you get with the OMEs

Thanks for all the suggestions, i'll take it all into consideration, and get to work!

No complaints after 2 years with KYBs mated to Ironman 2" springs with strut mounts flipped. Price is right on the KYB GR2s.
