I noticed some oil leaking out of my drivers side knuckle joint the other day. I bought a Chiltons and I guess I need to change my oil seal on it but I Chiltons does not mention anything about filling the knuckle back up with oil. Does the knuckle joint get it own oil? Or does it just feed from the diff case? Pardon my ignorance in advance... ???

It has grease in there, essentially it's just an enclosed
U-joint with seals to keep dirt and junk out

Oh ok cool. Thanks. That brings me to my next question though.... Why is there oil coming out of the bottom of my knuckle? Guess I will have to rip it apart and check it out...

The axle oil seal is leaking and allowing gear oil to get into the knuckle area. Then the knuckle seal is not sealing well and allowing the gear oil to run out of the backside of the knuckle.
