Title: Questions on 5" calmini lift
Post by: Ak Zuke on October 17, 2010, 11:26:04 AM
I have a 86 Samurai that I put a 5" calmini lift on and I am running 31" tires.  I am noticing that the rear suspension has no down ward travel, so it seems.  If I jump on the rear hitch I can compress the springs but when it comes back up it seems it is at its limit and I think the shocks are stopping it.  I am taking it to the shop today to see if there is something wrong I am also going to disconnect the rear shocks to see if the shocks are limiting the movement.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Springs are still new and stiff. When new,  that system give more that 5".  You need to beat on it, flex the suspension as much as possible, and give it some break in time.

Did you weld in the bumpstops?
