Title: 88 samurai wont stay running

Hi I'm the proud new owner of an 88 samurai. I bought as a rust bucket I will keep it as such lol. My problem is I can get it to run but can't keep it running its not getting gass carb is clean floats free how would I test the fuel pump ??

I can drive for a mile or so then dies any suggestions maye something other then the fuel pump ??

 Have you change/checked the fuel filter....rust and such can block your filter and then settle back down when the fuel flow stops, letting you start and travel for a while then starve the engine as the filter blocks back up.

Check the pressure too, is the pump leaking? is the engine "making oil"
in that case the pump is leaking into the crankcase, but starting by pulling
off the old filter and blow thru it, it there is any restriction replace it
