Title: Camo pics - updated
Post by: keith on June 13, 2004, 01:24:46 PM
I started to paint my tracker and am looking for some opinions.  Do you think I should leave it blue, make it just olive drab, or go full camo?

I like the full camo idea...

course if it were here in Boise, it'd have to be a desert camo pattern to fit in with the local national guard :)

I'm somewhat concerned about what my neighbors will think of camo.  Olive drab might look a little less obnoxious in my driveway.  I am going to paint it all olive and then put the other colors over the olive if I decide to go camo.

Fugg the neighbors and what they think! I did what I pleased to mine and people here think I'm crazy and even crazier when I give away my spare parts to other local zuki owners for free. And I tell the Homeowners Association that they can kiss my azz my money is just as good as theirs if not better because I put it to use in the community. GO CAMO ALL THE WAY!

I think it looks good. Toss those bumper covers, they're just dead weight anyway. ;D Paint the bumpers black.

My vote is for the snow camo. I know that wasnt one of your options but I like that look. I almost did it to mine.

I have a wheeling outing on Saturday.  I also have 235 MT tires arriving Thursday.  I hope to have the paint done and tires on by Friday.

This morning I started to do the camo colors and so far don't like it.  I may make it all olive and be done.

Did he spray paint the top? (It looks brown.)

No I buy the tops the color to match the camo jobs I have done.  the sami was spice brown from Kayline.
the tracker is kind of a grey/olive (can't remember the color) besttop.

I have better pics of the tracker if you want. (I haven't updated the pics since I got it done)

the sami was done with a paint brush in the pic you are referancing,  (camo paint kit from a surplus store and it faded quick) I now do the rattle can from krylon.
you either love or hate these paint jobs.  I love the fact you can match up repairs and changes easy and you can freshen them up cheap. (http://home.comcast.net/~wildweasel07/mabell05080469.jpg)
